Your personal data - What is it?

Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”).

Who controls the data?

The data controller is the Managing Director of Priors Period Ironmongery. If you have concerns or questions about your data please contact the data contoller.

How do we use your data?

We collect the information via our website which we need to process your order to provide the best customer service. The data we ask for is the cardholders name and address, telephone number and e-mail address and the delivery address details if different. We print a hard copy of the order details for processing and this is stored for one year. At the end of this time it is securely destroyed.

Sharing your data

Shop with confidence that your card and personal details are kept secure. We use Sage Pay to handle all our card transactions. Sage Pay is one of the leading card handling companies and uses 256 bit encryption to protect your card security. Its links to the banking network are completely separate from the Internet and do not cross any publicly accessible networks. 

We pass your details to our carriers via our agents InXpress, we use a variety of carriers.

In some cases we pass your details to our manufacturers who process the orders on our behalf.

We are obliged to keep records for tax accounting and we use a system called Kashflow. This is a secure system, password protected. Records have to be stored for 6 years or more.

The use of data for marketing purposes
We do not share or sell any personal details for marketing purposes.
We do not bother you with any marketing e-mails or phone calls.
 
Your rights and your personal data
You have:
The right to request that the data controller corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date.
The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for the business to retain such data.
The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time.
